THE PARADE GOES ON RAIN OR SHINE!

The 33rd annual Dominion Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Richmond, Virginia. This year’s theme is “Christmas at the Movies,” so be prepared to be starstruck! The parade will depart from the Science Museum on W. Broad Street and continue east to 7th Street. This beloved Richmond tradition attracts more than 100,000 spectators each year from everywhere in Virginia, with thousands more enjoying the live television broadcast.

For many Richmonders, the parade kicks off the Christmas season. The parade will feature a very special Grand Marshal, holiday floats, marching bands, huge helium balloons, and, of course, Santa himself! This year’s parade will continue the grand celebration of fun and excitement for all!

If you can’t experience the parade in person, you can watch it LIVE on WTVR-CBS6 on the day of the parade from 10 a.m. to noon, or see it on Christmas Day.

If you are participating in the parade, there is a designated drop off spot in front of the Science Museum for parade participants. This drop off area is on West Broad Street in front of the Science Museum (not in the Science Museum circle). We recommend that you use this spot if you have young children or individuals needing a ride at the end of the parade. We do not run a shuttle service at the end of the parade. You are responsible for picking up your parade participant at the end of the parade. For more information, please click here.
